Withdraw

Sometimes a tornado of words forms in my brain and they fly out one at a time and stick to the page.

These words did that today. I feel like I channeled someone. Weird.

Anyway, here’s this:

Withdraw

repeating the gyrations of a twilight baker

caught up in carbonite like water

drowning in air with a trickle running down your thigh

did you piss yourself? perhaps you did

would you know?

would you care?

I care

beached whales take up residence

between you and the sea

rotting and stinking for the lost loves upon which they lie

vultures refuse the carrion

even as they salivate for you

with your golden belief in your own outmoded preciousness

truculence, arrogance, violence, you jumped the fence

now it’s time for recompense

step into your old life

and give up that thing that killed you

Or it will kill you

every

day

until it kills you.

Come back

to me.

  1. Oh my GOD. Stunning. And it broke my heart a million times over to read.

    Never stop writing.
