fibrillation

When I know that I’ll see you

the butterflies in my stomach

fan my heart with their wings

~delicate insistence that urges me on

When I’m in your arms

the pressure of your lips against me

heats my heart with its force

~pounding beat that drives me into you

When I lie with you quietly

the brush of your breath on my neck

soothes my heart with its fragrance

~calming breeze that fills me with love

When I see you with another

the rage and heartache in my head

pummel my heart with angry fists

~catastrophic earthquake that breaks my heart into a thousand bloody pieces
